SURPASS, in collaboration with Waste Free Oceans (WFO), orchestrated a remarkable Global Recycling Day event on March 17th, 2024, in the vibrant city of Brussels. With an impressive turnout of over 40 dedicated participants, the initiative aimed to combat waste pollution and raise awareness about environmental sustainability on a global scale.

The event kicked off with fervent volunteers rallying together to clean up various areas within Brussels, demonstrating their commitment to preserving our planet. With their combined efforts, an astounding total of more than 160kg of trash was collected, showcasing the impact achievable through community action.

Following the cleanup activities, SURPASS presented its mission and objectives, underscoring the significance of collective engagement in environmental conservation endeavors. Despite the typical Brussels weather, participants remained undeterred, showing remarkable dedication and resilience in contributing to the cause.

The event also featured insightful interviews with participants, providing valuable insights into the waste challenges facing our cities and the importance of collaborative efforts in finding solutions.

Through this initiative, SURPASS not only made substantial progress in local cleanup efforts but also succeeded in raising awareness among both the Belgian and international communities.
